| Hello. A lot of people are asking about Holly's progress. At the moment Holly is receiving MIBG Therapy at the University Collage Hospital London. This is a very specialised treatment and unfortunately can not be done in Ireland because Ireland do not have the facilities. MIBG therapy is a radioactive Iodine with Meta-iodobenzylguanidine, commonly referred to as MIBG, is an Iodine based radioactive drug used for the treatment of Neuroblastoma in Children. The drug is selectively taken by the cancer cells wherever they may be in the body and, when given in high doses, destroys them with radiation. Unlike normal radiotherapy witch is x-rayed into someone, with Holly it is infused into her. Holly received her first treatment on April 21st. Her next treatment is due to be done in the next few weeks. Holly is receiving this Treatment because after finishing Chemo in January, scans still showed that Holly still has a lot of Tumours in her Skeleton. Because of the very high doses of radium Holly was placed in a lead protected room with no one allowed in only my wife, Mary and I. Holly spent Ten days in the room in witch we could give her all the care and assistance she needed, but had to keep our distance also when we could because of over exposure to ourselves. When we got home Holly could not go near her brother or any other children for another Two weeks because of her being so radioactive. After Holly's next MIBG treatment, the plan is that Three weeks later she will go to Our Ladies Hospital Crumlin for Stem Cell Transplant. This treatment is where Holly will be given huge amounts of Chemo in witch her immune system will be totally wiped out. Then she will be given Stem Cells to rescue her witch were harvested from her last year. Holly will be in the High Dependency unit for Two months. Please God everything will go well, because at the moment Holly is in Fantastic form and long may it last. Thank you all again for keeping Holly in your thoughts and prayers and please keep Praying. We will keep you posted over the next few weeks and months on Holly's progress. Holly's Parents.
